It’s happening…
Susannah and I are heading into the first interviews for The Wobbly Middle, our new podcast about women reinventing their careers in midlife. In preparation, I have watched Scoop - and also The Devil Wears Prada to make sure I am across all media.
For those who don’t know Susannah (de Jager), she is smart, funny and totally knows her onions. Even if you are not currently investing your millions, her Oxford+ podcast exploring the Oxford investing landscape is well worth a listen. And (proud friend moment) it has just been commissioned for a second series.
Doctor! Doctor! Can’t you see I’m burning, burning
Our first guests on The Wobbly Middle are the menopause specialists and founders of the Oxford Hormone Clinic, Drs Susanne Hooper and Melanie Hacking.
Fertility specialists, Susanne and Mel pivoted to menopausal care after seeing the lack of support available to their patients, friends - and themselves - as they hit perimenopause. As doctors and entrepreneurs, they bring the dual perspective of having re-invented their own careers in midlife as well as being experts on how perimenopause may affect our working lives (or even our feelings about returning to work). Plus they are fabulous.
Drop me a line if there are any hot flushes issues you would like to ask the Doctors about.
If a podcast, why a newsletter?
Our podcast interviews will be released in the Autumn. In the meantime, for those of us who aren’t so sure of what we want to do next, or how to get there, there is lots happening in this area.
As we read, listen, watch and speak to all sorts of people about all things midlife-women related, we want to be able to pass on the cool things that we learn via the newsletter. For example, did you know that in the UK the fastest growing demographic in the workplace is women age 50+?
If you’re in Oxford…
